Our Rates Analysis tool re-runs a carrier invoice through the same engine that produces your live bills. Compare it against up to three rate scenarios, including a different carrier. Every savings and margin figure is what you would actually be billed – not an estimate.
What you pay today, what you'd save, and your chargeback margin – from one invoice.
Parcel Optimizer AI is software, not a broker. Our Rates Analysis tool compares your real shipments against your carrier contracts and shows you the numbers, with no incentive to steer you anywhere.
What you pay today, what you'd save, and your chargeback margin – from one invoice.
Most rate-comparison tools model savings with a simplified formula and hope it's close. Our Rates Analysis tool doesn't. Each scenario is run as a full billing batch against your uploaded invoice – the exact code path that produces your live bills. The discount, spend, savings, and margin on the screen are defensible in front of finance and your carrier rep because they're computed the way the real bill would be.
Runs on the same billing engine as your live billing – there's no parallel pricing logic to maintain or drift out of sync.
Improvements to surcharge, minimum, and DIM handling flow straight through. No rework, no reconciliation.
Analysis batches never touch customer billing histories, never generate invoices, and never trigger downstream postings.
Name it, link a customer, confirm the carrier, and upload.
Slot 1 is the invoice as billed – or any rate sheet you select. Slots 2 and 3 take any carrier – including a different one – a rate sheet, and a comparison method.
One billing batch runs per scenario, all against the same invoice, in the background.
A single table lays out every scenario at the granularity you actually negotiate on.
Put a FedEx invoice next to UPS rates. Same shipments, same dollars – re-expressed in the other carrier's language.
Before billing runs, our Rates Analysis tool translates every record into the target carrier's vocabulary: services, surcharges, zones, packaging, and the residential/commercial split. Dollar amounts never change – only the labels do. The conversion reads each shipment's real residential status, so a UPS Ground residential shipment lands on FedEx Home Delivery, not FedEx Ground.
Each item is identified against the carrier equivalencies tables – the same identification the billing process already uses.
The shipment's service group constrains both sides of the match, so a charge can only map to a sensible target.
Clean matches convert. Anything ambiguous or unmapped is reported in Coverage – never guessed at.
FedEx ⇄ UPS today – and adding a carrier is a data exercise, not an engineering project. The conversion is carrier-agnostic, so USPS, Purolator, and more come online as their equivalency data is loaded. No code release, no change to how you use the tool.
Rate conversations don't happen at the invoice-total level – they happen at "your Ground residential, 21–30 lbs, zones 2–8." The Rates Analysis tool breaks every service into its zone × weight-break subsegments, so you can point to exactly where a proposed rate wins or loses.
Configure each scenario for what you need to see. The same analysis answers "what does this save us?" and "what do we recover?" at once.
Compare a proposed rate against the invoice baseline to quantify exactly what the business saves – by service, by zone, by weight break.
Set one scenario as the chargeback rate you bill internally and another as your true carrier cost, and read the spread before you publish it.
Every analysis opens with a coverage bar and an Items Not Analyzed table. Unrecognized services, unmapped surcharges, returns, or items with no cross-carrier equivalent are itemized by category – per scenario. No silent gaps.
Built for analysts, not for a summary slide. Three scenario bands run the full height of the table, the description column and headers stay pinned as you scroll, and every level expands, collapses, and searches. Dense, fast to scan, and easy to read.
